Summer Sports Spectacular

As you may already be aware, there are many great athletic programs offered here at CCH. The coaching staff, hardworking students, and team atmosphere are really what make our programs so exceptional.  Currently, the badminton season is slowly coming to an end as Zone playoffs will be this Wednesday in Medicine Hat. We are proud to say that CCH was very well represented at City’s last week and will be sending twenty competitors to Zones. I would also personally like to thank Mrs. Polec, Cody Fong, Alycia Amatto, Arth Patel, and Lani Knowles for all their coaching and support! I have had such a great experience and would encourage anyone thinking of joining badminton next year to do so!

Girls’ Slo-pitch and Boys’ Baseball are also currently in full swing (excuse the pun) and I am excited to say that I will be playing my first game this Thursday! Mrs. Umeris and Ms. Groten are coaching the girls’ senior team and Mr. Nixon and Mr. Wikenheiser will be coaching the junior team. As for baseball, the coaches are Mr. Boudreau, Mr. Leroux, and Mr. Gilbert and their schedule is jammed packed with games.

Track has officially begun this week and for anyone interested in participating, there is still time to join.  Practices run (excuse the pun, again) on Mondays-Thursdays, 3:00-4:30 pm. If Track is anything like Cross-country season, I’m certain it’s going to be a lot of fun!  Track provincials will also be hosted in Lethbridge this year which is a huge bonus.

For all of you CCH athletes out there, good luck with your seasons, and for those of you looking to get involved, trust me when I say that you will definitely not regret it!
